The liberation of Aleppo was a severe blow to the Americans | The imminent liberation of Mosul

 

Sayyid Abdul-Fattah al-Musawi, emphasizing the imminent victory of the Popular Mobilization Forces in Mosul, said, “The liberation of Aleppo was a strong blow by the Islamic Resistance to the arrogant front.”

 

According to Rasa News Agency, the Battle of Mosul and the efforts of the Iraqi people to retake the last important city from Daesh are the main subjects of the regional media these days. Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces ‎ can be considered one of the most important military institutions participating in this battle. In this regard, we have arranged an interview with Sayyid Abdul-Fattah al-Musawi, a senior member of the al-Nujaba Islamic Resistance Movement‎.

The following is the text of this interview:

 

First, let us discuss the Mosul operation. In the last one or two weeks, there has been a lot of contradictory news about the Battle of Mosul. Please mention the latest information on the Battle of Mosul and the actions of the Popular Mobilization Forces.

I must first say that different factions of the Iraqi people sacrificed their lives for their religion and homeland during the liberation of the occupied territories. Of course, what we are witnessing in Iraq is undoubtedly the war of the Islamic world with the Kharijites, which should be important for all Muslims. In the meantime, the Popular Mobilization Forces were able to play a very important role in the recent phase of Iraq and achieve many achievements. The same Mosul that you mentioned has a very large area and the operation to liberate it had its own difficulties.

Concerning Mosul, large parts of the city have been liberated so far, and the operation is proceeding according to schedule. Only the central areas of Mosul are in the hands of Daesh, which will be liberated in the coming days and weeks. Do not doubt that the end of the Mosul operation and the victory of the Iraqi people over Daesh in Mosul is very close. In this operation, Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces, like the previous operation, were able to achieve astonishing achievements.

 

These days, the enemies of the Islamic Resistance have made every effort to end the existence of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces after the liberation of Mosul. Do you think this is possible?

You see, most of the Islamic Resistance movements in Iraq were established before the emergence of Daesh and some of them date back to before the overthrow of the Ba’ath Party and others after it. This means that groups had resisted the Ba’ath Party and the American occupiers. But the turning point that led to the formation of the Popular Mobilization Forces was the fatwa of the religious authority. Therefore, Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces will not end after the end of the Daesh occupation but will continue to protect Iraq. In this regard, no higher body can disband the Popular Mobilization Forces, because the Popular Mobilization Forces became an official part of the Iraqi military structure with the vote of the Iraqi parliament.

You should note which countries the individuals or platforms that want to dissolve the Popular Mobilization Forces belong to. Most of these countries are either greedy for Mosul or have supported Daesh themselves. The dissolution of the Popular Mobilization Forces is the illusion of countries and groups that support terrorism, which never becomes a reality.

 

Why do some Iraqi politicians and members of the Iraqi media constantly undermine Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces in the Arab media? Are they speaking on behalf of the Sunnis or are they merely Saudi-centric speakers?

Most of the political opponents of Popular Mobilization Forces have a sectarian and denominational approach. They describe Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces as “Safavids” and the use of such expressions in the first place determines the nature of its speakers. Basically, Popular Mobilization Forces is not a Shi’ah institution that some would like to call a sectarian army. Incidentally, a large number of children of Iraqi Sunni tribes have joined this military complex and fought against the Takfiris. The Sunnis fought alongside the Shi’ahs against the Daesh and the Popular Mobilization Forces can never be considered a supporter of the Shi’ahs but rather this system is a supporter of Iraq. As I mentioned earlier, the Popular Mobilization Forces are made up of Shi’ah and Sunni battalions.

On the other hand, anti-popular figures, who are mostly media outlets, can never be considered Sunni. Even among the Sunnis, they are a minority, and if we look at their background, we see that they have managed many movements against the central government themselves. The Sunni masses are also well-aware that some of the politicians attributed to them are pursuing only their own interests and those of some foreign countries and that they have no gift other than the presence of Daesh in Iraq.

 

They claim that the Popular Mobilization Forces are the only defenders of the Shi’ahs.

No one can deny that Popular Mobilization Forces saved Iraq in the first place from the threats of Daesh. Baghdad was about to fall into the hands of Daesh criminals who have no hesitation in massacring people. Most of the areas where the warriors of the Popular Mobilization Forces fought Daesh were Sunni areas. They sacrificed their blood and lives for their homeland, honour and religion. The battle of these forces in Mosul, Tikrit, Ramadi and Fallujah was, in fact, the defence of children, women and civilians in these areas.

 

Specifically, after the liberation of Mosul, one of the serious threats facing Iraq is the danger of division. What is the position of Popular Mobilization Forces on this issue?

The project to partition Iraq is by no means a new project. Ever since the Americans occupied Iraq, it has put the disintegration of the country on its agenda and acted accordingly. Many thinkers have spoken about this, all emphasizing that the project to divide the Islamic world is an American-Zionist project that seeks to keep no powerful government or army in the region.

The division of Iraq on the basis of ethnic and tribal divisions is a serious threat to Iraq, but the Iraqi sympathizers will never allow these conspiracies to take place. The Popular Mobilization Forces will definitely stand in front of this project and will not allow anyone to divide Iraq. Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces, especially after the liberation of Mosul, focuses all their efforts on the unity of the Iraqi people. The Shi’ahs, the Sunnis, the Christians, the Kurds, the Turkmen and the Arabs of Iraq must live together and build a strong and dignified country.

 

In one of the Friday prayer sermons in Mosul, eight Daesh Friday preachers accused the Persian Gulf countries of treason and said that Daesh would attack them in the future. Does this mean that the supporters of the Takfiris are in danger today?

Yes, it is one hundred percent like that. For years, the intellectuals of the Islamic world have been emphasizing that supporting Takfiris and terrorism will make its supporters regret it. Today we see examples of this in the region. The governments that used the tool of terrorism to overthrow the government of Damascus and create problems for Baghdad today faced terrorist explosions. Daesh is a project of the arrogant powers with the help of Turkey and Saudi Arabia. Today, Daesh has been the scourge of Turkey and Saudi Arabia and such statements by Daesh’s Friday prayer leaders in Mosul are not strange.

The intellectual system of the Takfiris is such that it can achieve nothing but killing and destruction. One day they will fight their enemies and the next day they will take up arms against their friends from yesterday. Anyone who raises a predator in their home should wait every day for that animal to harm them. Time will tell what a big mistake the supporters of Daesh, Jabhat al-Nusrah and other Takfiri groups have made.

 

How do you assess the achievements of the Islamic Resistance Axis as a single front in Syria and Iraq, especially last year?

The strategy of resistance is a belief-political strategy that has been designed to take into account the current situation. The origins of the Islamic Resistance go back to Imam al-Husayn and his uprising against falsehood. The Islamic Resistance stands against oppression and oppressors in every period.

The liberation of Aleppo and the achievements of Mosul have been a heavy blow to the Americans and the West in recent days. No matter how much they plot, various conspiracies and spend huge sums of money, there are people among the Muslims who thwart all these conspiracies through their resistance. What has happened in the region recently will be a turning point, the nature of which will become clearer later. The achievements of the Islamic Resistance neutralize the far-reaching conspiracies of the arrogant powers and present a humiliating image of them.
