The US has 19 military bases in Iraq | Parliament must expel them

Emphasizing that the al-Nujaba Islamic Resistance movement is closely and continuously monitoring the movements of American troops on Iraqi soil, al-Shammari called on parliament to take serious action to protect the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

According to the Communication and Media Affairs Centre of al-‎Nujaba in Iran‎, Nasr al-Shammari, the head of the Executive Council of al-Nujaba, called on the Iraqi parliament to take serious action to protect the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In an interview with Baghdad al-Yawm, al-Shammari stressed that the al-Nujaba Islamic Resistance movement ‎is closely and continuously monitoring the movements of American troops on Iraqi soil and added, “They have expanded their presence in most areas by building nineteen military bases.”

He added, “The Iraqi parliament must close these bases and expel the American forces from Iraq in order to protect the country’s territorial integrity.”

It is worth mentioning that Washington had previously announced that it would withdraw its troops from Syria and deploy them on Iraqi soil to focus more on Iran.
